The Aqua One was conceived and built to meet the needs of serious divers who expect the best. The Aqua One is modern, beautifully decorated, and as comfortable as a fine hotel. The Aqua One has accommodations for 16 passengers in 8 air-conditioned staterooms. All rooms are fitted with standard queen or twin sized beds, carpeted and tastefully furnished. Facilities include piped-in music, reading lights, wardrobe, hair-dryer and plenty of storage space.
The main lounge on the main deck is fully air-conditioned and is fitted with large panoramic windows. The lounge serves as the vessel living room, theater and dining room. A complete home entertainment center is also available with the latest movies.
The upper deck houses the wheelhouse and a second air-conditioned lounge that serves as a photography station and a library. The covered open-air area occasionally functions as an alfresco dinning room with barbecue facilities. The forward open-air sitting area serves as a sunbathing platform and is the perfect place to watch the sun goes down into the ocean blue.
Aqua One's dining is a memorable experience. The chef's talents are legendary. In addition to three full meals each day that features either a buffet or a set dinner, snacks and refreshments are available throughout the day. Our chefs serve up a wide variety of international dishes, with a bias towards Thai, oriental and seafood delicacies. Upon prior request, we can also cater to any special dietary requirements. Freshly brewed coffee, tea and soft drinks are available free of charge 24 hours a day.
Diving activities are supported by two electric Bauers air-compressors, 4500-psi air bank storage system and hyperfiltration system producing grade "D" breathing air with 4 fill hoses and two 4.70 meters R.I.Bs with 40 H.P outboards. Nitrox, through a DNAx system (32% 02Mix), is available to qualified divers.
At the end of each dive, divers are treated with hot towels. Four fresh water showers and a head are conveniently located on the dive deck and dive platform.
The Aqua One is dedicated to underwater photographers and videographers. Automatic E-6 slide processing equipment is available on board along with a slide projector, screen and slide-viewers to show off the end result. A charging station with both 220v and 110v outlets is located within the photography lounge.
For the videographer, multi-systems VHS player, 14" and 29" TVs are available. Nikonos, Sea &; Sea and digital photographic equipment rental is also available.
From June to October of each year M/Y Aqua One tours the waters of Komodo Island, Indonesia. Visitors fly into the international airport at Denpasar on the island of Bali and from there fly into Bima on the island of Sumbawa to be escorted to the Aqua One.
When diving at Komodo National Park, you can expect sloping reefs, enormous walls, black cliffs, volcanic sand and underwater pinnacles. Visibility usually quite good but variable and can range between 40-100 feet while currents can be from gentle to a racing 6 knots! Typical itinerary will include diving off Gilli Banta and Gilli Lawah as well as Komodo, Padar, Tala, Tatawa, Sebayur Kecil and also the southern islands of Rinca, Nusa Kode and Motang. At Pillar Rock, fish life is first rate with schools of fusiliers, sweetlips and surgeonfish as well as sharks. Many rare invertebrates, unusual nudibranchs and plentiful soft corals are found south of Rinca and Motang.
The Cannibal Rock south of Rinca is home to frogfish, mantis shrimps, Spanish dancers, decorated crabs, coleman shrimps and other peculiar critters. Schools of Napoleon Wrasse patrol the water off Sebuyar Kecil. The wall dive of Banta promises schools of chevron and yellowtail barracuda, red snapper, jacks, rainbow runners, black manta rays and a variety of sharks.
During your week with us you will have the opportunity to dive most of the more established sites in the area including GPS Point, Current City, Sangean Volcano, Manta Alley, and Crinoid Wall as well as newer and lesser known sites recently discovered.
The cruise also includes a half-day foot safari to visit face to face the infamous Komodo dragon, that giant lizard like creature endemic to this island.
